The Freedom of Existence
A Silent Three Night Retreat
of Essential Self-Inquiry and Meditation
with Mukti
September 3-6, 2010
Friday 8 pm to Monday 2 pm
A
longing to feel alive comes from an inherent knowing of what it is to
truly live. We know when we're awake to life and when we're in a haze.
We know when we're leaning in and when we're holding back.
This retreat will delve into the nature of our very existence, as life
Itself, apart from personal identities, roles, history or future. Mukti
will point participants to their essential Self, prior to these
personal attributes, and will nurture a remembrance of Self nature that
is free of all definitions and divisions.
To support this remembrance, Mukti will discuss and coach participants
in Self-inquiry during periods of satsang (sessions exploring the
nature of Truth) and offer guided meditation. This retreat will also
provide several periods of silent group meditation, as well as time to
rest and enjoy the natural surroundings. Outside of satsang,
participants will be observing silence. All components of this retreat,
especially the maintaining of silence, are provided to further
conscious knowing of our ever-present, undivided nature.
The combination of shared intention, dynamic inquiry, and the stillness of meditation create a powerful synergy for Self remembrance or the emergence of Spirit into consciousness.
Mukti, whose name means liberation, teaches in the lineage of Adyashanti, her husband. Mukti's roots in Christianity, Vedanta, and Zen, and her education in Chinese Medicine and yoga, greatly flavor her teachings, which point to wholeness or undivided consciousness.
Mukti leads medtiations, talks, and discussions in groups or in private settings. She and her husband, Adyashanti, founded the Open Gate Sangha in San Jose, California.
